On the day you visit our Boston area dermatology and cosmetic surgery practice for your appointment please bring your insurance card. Be sure that any required referral has been processed. Insurance co-pays are expected to be paid at the time of your visit.
We accept most major insurance carriers. Please call your insurance provider prior to your first appointment to confirm that we are participating in YOUR insurance plan.
Please be aware of your individual deductibles, co-pay and co-insurance amounts. Insurance coverage does not guarantee insurance payment.
You will receive a statement that lists any unmet deductibles, co-pay and co-insurance amounts due after your insurance has paid the portion covered by your plan. You can opt to pay your bill online. Prompt payment is appreciated.
Please note, we are currently transitioning to a new online bill payment platform.
Thank you for your patience during this transition.
Often procedures will require a prior authorization (PA) from your insurance company. One of our experienced PA specialists will send a letter of medical necessity and photos to your carrier for medical review. This can be a lengthy process. Please do not hesitate to contact SkinCare Physicians’ billing office to check your prior authorization status.
Cosmetic treatments are out of pocket non-insured billable expenses. A cosmetic consultation will enable you to meet with one of our physicians and determine the best treatment plan for you. A consult fee will be charged.
If you have any questions regarding your bill, or insurance status please contact one of our experienced patient account specialists at 617-848-1630.
