Before the Procedure

During your consultation, your doctor will carefully assess your health, anatomy, and goals to design a personalized treatment plan. A thorough explanation of the procedure and alternative options will be provided.

To ensure optimal safety:

• Lab tests are conducted to confirm you’re in good health.
• Pre- and post-operative antibiotics are prescribed to prevent infection.
• Aspirin-containing products and Vitamin E must be discontinued at least two weeks before surgery.

The Liposuction Procedure

The procedure begins with the administration of tumescent anesthesia, where a saline anesthetic solution is gently infused beneath the skin. This solution not only numbs the area but also minimizes blood loss and swelling.

Next, your surgeon will make small incisions (about ¼ inch) to insert a thin tube, or cannula, attached to a suction device. Guided by precision and artistry, the surgeon carefully removes fat to achieve a sculpted, natural-looking contour. The entire process typically lasts under three hours.

After the Procedure

Following surgery, you’ll continue the antibiotics prescribed before the procedure. Post-operative discomfort is minimal, with most patients resuming normal activities within three to four days.

• A compression garment is worn for one week continuously, then 8–10 hours daily for an additional one to two weeks.
• This garment helps the skin conform to its new, sculpted shape.

Patients typically return to their normal physical routine within 7–10 days. It’s important to note that liposuction is not a substitute for healthy eating and regular exercise. Instead, it’s a tool to refine contours when other methods fall short.
