Medical and cosmetic dermatology practice expands physicians team to serve its patients better in Boston and surrounding areas.
Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts (September 15, 2014) – SkinCare Physicians is very pleased to announce that Laurel M. Morton, M.D. is joining its team of dermatologists near Boston. She brings expertise in both medical and cosmetic dermatology to the practice. To serve SkinCare Physicians patients’ needs better, Dr. Morton is offering appointments on Saturdays and, later in the year, during evening hours once a week.
Dr. Morton attended medical school at the University of Michigan, where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her internship in internal medicine at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. and subsequently trained in the Department of Dermatology at Boston University, where she was chosen to be the Chief Resident during her senior year and was awarded the Marie-France Demierre Award for Humanism in Medicine. She recently was a fellow at SkinCare Physicians in Laser and Cosmetic Dermatology.
“Everyone at SkinCare Physicians is delighted that Dr. Laurel Morton is joining our practice as staff physician and close colleague,” said Dr. Kenneth A. Arndt, M.D., a founding partner of SkinCare Physicians. “Over the past year, we have enjoyed working with her and have benefited from her many qualities as a physician and a person. We know patients will love the care they receive from her.”
While a Fellow at SkinCare Physicians, Dr. Morton has carried out many research projects, written papers printed in peer reviewed medical journals, and presented talks at the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery meeting in the spring. During her fellowship, she developed expertise in lasers for vascular and pigmented lesions and for the treatment of acne scars, traumatic and surgical scars and wounds. “While I enjoy performing an array of cosmetic procedures, I have a particular affinity for laser-based procedures,” said Dr. Morton. “The applications of laser medicine are broad and allow me to be creative when people are concerned about specific problems. The many medical devices and the wide array of techniques available to us at SkinCare Physicians are invaluable to fulfilling our commitment to offer the best possible care to patients. I look forward to being an active member of SkinCare Physicians and its many activities.”
