Dermatologists Lecture at Plastic Surgeons Meeting in Boston
SkinCare Physicians’ Drs. Dover, Kaminer and Rohrer were invited guest speakers at the 2015 annual meeting of plastic surgeons, The American Society for Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), last weekend in Boston. It is rare for dermatologists to be invited to speak at plastic surgery meetings, and it was a great honor for our physicians to share their expertise with so many plastic surgeons from around the world.
Drs. Jeffrey Dover and Thomas Rohrer spoke at a plenary session called “perioral rejuvenation”. While Dr. Dover addressed the use of neuromodulator and fillers, Dr. Rohrer discussed the use of lasers for perioral rejuvenation.
Dr. Michael Kaminer gave the filler lecture in a room filled with 500 plastic surgeons, and taught about CoolSculpting and non surgical facial rejuvenation, with the help of our Director of Clinical Operations, Andrea DiGiulio. He is here with Dr. Rick D’Amico who invited him.

Drs. Shilpi Khetarpal and Mara Weinstein Velez are two of the three talented dermatologists who recently joined SkinCare Physicians’ Fellowship program to gain valuable, hands-on experience. While Dr. Khetarpal was born in London, Dr. Weinstein Velez was raised on the island of Guam in the Western Pacific where she was exposed to tropical dermatology and diverse skin types at a very young age. Dr. Khetarpal completed her undergraduate and medical education in seven years, earning a combined BS/MD degree, while Dr. Weinstein Velez joined Teach for America and taught high-school chemistry before going to medical school. What did they have in common before joining the SkinCare Physicians family? They both completed their dermatology residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. In her free time, you’ll find Dr. Khetarpal around Boston at various spinning and yoga studios, looking for the best coffee shop or restaurant, or trying out new tech gadgets. She also loves travelling. Out of work, Dr. Weinstein Velez enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, taking zumba or barre classes, or being island-bound for a long trip home!

Boston dermatologist, Dr. Tania Phillips, is a regular volunteer at the Women’s Lunch Place, a shelter for homeless women that provides food and medical care.
