SkinCare Physicians’ Fellows, Drs. Mara Weinstein Velez and Shilpi Khetarpal, were interviewed at length by the Plastic Surgery Practice magazine for an article covering advances in tools used to detect skin cancer and melanoma. Both dermatologists weigh in on traditional tools, such as dermoscopy, and new imaging technologies that help physicians decide whether or not to biopsy suspicious moles. “Your Skin Is In” elearning program featured Dr. Robin Travers
SkinCare Physicians’ Dr. Robin Travers has been working with the Melanoma Foundation of New England (MFNE) to develop an online version of the award-winning “Your Skin Is In” program to a nationwide audience. It launched yesterday! Educators, school administrators, and high school and college students across the country can now use this melanoma education program in their classrooms with a click of a mouse!
This elearning program encourages teens and young adults to learn more about melanoma, risky sun behaviors, and how to protect their skin. Working with online educators, the MFNE developed a script for several teaching videos, along with an online curriculum and assessment protocol.
Parts of the videos were filmed in SkinCare Physicians’ offices near Boston, and feature our own dermatologist, Dr. Robin Travers.
Learn how you can be involved in Your Skin Is In progam.
If you know of any educators who might be interested in introducing this curriculum into their classrooms, please share the link with them.
