Dr. Rohrer is featured in a video from the American Academy of Dermatology that explains how to check skin for cancer. He commented that current estimates show 20 percent of U.S. adults will be diagnosed with skin cancer in their lifetime, so it’s important to be familiar with your skin, especially moles. "Checking your skin for skin cancer only requires your eyes and a mirror," Rohrer stated. "Examining your skin only takes a few minutes, but it could save your life." Watch the video.

No significant difference found between four resurfacing laser treatments
Drs. Arndt, Dover, Kaminer and Rohrer collaborated with other SkinCare Physicians and Boston colleagues in a comprehensive comparative trial evaluating the effects of four different fractional resurfacing lasers on twelve patients. This in depth study was just published in the journal Dermatologic Surgery, and the results have also been discussed in podium presentations at national meetings. Each patient was treated with each of the four lasers. All treatments resulted in improvement in photoaging and no significant difference was found between the lasers in outcomes, pain or histologic findings. This was the first and only such evaluation in the medical literature.

Drs. Arndt and Dover just returned from directing the annual "Controversies and Conversations in Cutaneous Laser and Cosmetic Surgery" advanced symposium, which was held at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Canada. Over 200 attendees traveled to this exciting and educational meeting to hear about state-of-the-art treatments and developments in this rapidly evolving area. Drs. Kaminer and Rohrer also participated in the program. "Controversies" , which has traditionally been held each summer for over the past two decades, is attended by physicians of many specialties, other health care providers and representatives from the medical laser and aesthetic industry, all of whom enthusiastically comment that this is the "best meeting of the year".

For the fourth year, Dr. Rohrer directed the live Botulinum Toxins and Filler injection demonstration at the annual summer meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology, with Dr. Kaminer, a faculty member. This course taught dermatologists from around the world the latest aesthetic injection tips and techniques. It was one of the most highly attended sessions of the entire conference.
