SkinCare Physicians welcomes Heidi Prather to its team, as a fellow in Laser and Aesthetic Surgery. Hailing from the great state of Texas where she received her doctorate of medicine, Heidi completed her dermatology training at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Heidi brings with her a passion for using technology to enhance medical care that began during her early experience in biomedical engineering. At SkinCare Physicians, she is devoted to improving patient care as part of ongoing clinical research studies in tattoo removal and acne treatment. Outside of work, Heidi enjoys sailing, playing tennis, discovering the great city of Boston… and Texas football!

Every year, three talented board eligible dermatologists join SkinCare Physicians’ Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Fellowship program to gain valuable, hands-on experience. Meet Shraddha Desai who comes to us from the Midwest… Shraddha grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, attended the University of Illinois – Urbana and received her medical degree from Rush University School of Medicine. She completed her dermatology residency at Loyola University Medical Center and has finally made her move to the east coast to join us at SkinCare Physicians. If you don’t see her around the office, she is probably strolling around the Charles River, entertaining herself with a new hobby, or cozying up to a book. She’s a big fan of traveling, hiking, and deep-dish pizza.

The Melanoma Foundation of New England is hosting an early stage melanoma support group at the Skincare Physicians’ offices in Chestnut Hill. This three part session support group offers stage I and early stage II melanoma patients an opportunity to connect with others who share similar cancer experiences in a supportive and educational based setting. We at SkinCare Physicians are delighted that Dr. Laurel Morton is joining our practice. She brings expertise in both medical and cosmetic dermatology to the practice. To serve our patients’ needs better, Dr. Morton will be offering appointments on Saturdays and, later in the year, during evening hours once a week. Over the past year, she completed her fellowship at SkinCare Physicians in Laser and Cosmetic Dermatology. As more people want to get their tattoo removed, significant advancements in tattoo removal technologies are being made. Along with other dermatologists, SkinCare Physicians’ Dr. Jeffrey Dover recently commented on these advancements, and specifically on the emerging and promising picosecond technology, in the May-June 2014 issue of MedEsthetics Magazine.
SkinCare Physicians has long been interested in the treatment of pigmented lesions, including tattoos, and was instrumental in the pivotal trial that secures FDA approval of the PicoSure Laser device.
