The new FDA-approved acne scar treatment Bellafill is coming to SkinCare Physicians.
Bellafill is the most recent FDA-approved filler to reach the U.S. market, specifically for the treatment of acne scars. It joins other excellent fillers already on the market such as Belotero, Juvederm, and Restylane as viable options for treating acne scars as well as wrinkles and other surface skin changes. These products have proven to be extremely safe and effective, with results lasting on average 9-12 months or longer. Acne scars in particular are a challenge to treat, and quality of life for patients improves significantly as their scars are diminished. Adding Bellafill to our treatment portfolio will enhance our ability at SkinCare Physicians to treat virtually all patients who have acne scars. And we can do it successfully and likely much more easily than one might think. As a testament to the quality of care provided to our patients, SkinCare Physicians has been invited by Dermatology World to write an article about the principles that make our practice so special. Dermatology World is a monthly publication of the American Academy of Dermatology that is sent to all practicing dermatologists in North America, and we are honored to share our insights. Get answers to the following questions:
How do we describe the culture/environment in SkinCare Physicians’ office?
How do we encourage and cultivate good staff relations among SkinCare Physicians’ 14 dermatologist?
How many non-physicians/administrative staff members do we employ, and how do we ensure that the physicians and other staff are effectively communicating?
Do we have an incentive compensation bonus program and/or annual reviews of support staff?
What practice management training and education do we provide your administrative staff on a regular basis?
What kind of education and training do we provide our staff on the wide range of services and procedures we offer?
Beyond CME, what type of training, education, seminars, and conferences are physicians on staff encouraged to participate in and why?
The December issue of the prestigious journal Seminars in Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery has just arrived. It’s a wonderful reflection of SkinCare Physicians’ Dr. Deanne Robinson’s skills and the contributions of many other SkinCare Physicians’ dermatologists and Fellow alumni. It continues a tradition of active involvement of SkinCare Physicians in editing and contributing to this journal.
As Guest Editor, Dr. Robinson had to select what topics to discuss, identify potential authors and convince them to write articles. She then had to edit them with the highest quality and in a timely manner!
Many SkinCare Physicians’ dermatologists and Fellow alumni contributed as authors or co-authors in this issue, including Drs. Deanne Robinson, Emily Keller, Jeremy Green, Andrei Metelitsa, Laurel Morton, Rachel Pritzker and Kenneth Arndt.
Congratulations to all!

SkinCare Physicians’ Dr. Jeffrey Dover shares two skin sins you should avoid committing in an article published by LongivityLIVE.Skimp on Sunscreen Jeffrey Dover, associate clinical professor of dermatology at Yale University School of Medicine and director of Skincare Physicians in Chestnut Hill says most people under-apply by one-fourth. Whatever you’re putting on is probably too little, so at least double it. Also, many people also don’t apply sunscreen every two hours as dermatologists recommend. Smoking If the risk of lung cancer, emphysema, heart disease, and stroke aren’t enough to scare you off cigarettes, how about all those wrinkles you’ll get? Study after study shows just how extensively smoking ages the skin. “It does a lot of what the sun does. It just does it inside (the body) instead of outside,” Dover says. “It makes the skin weak, tired, and listless looking.” Read the full article.
