All new SkinCare Physicians’ Clear + Brilliant Fusion treatment

Published on Apr 8th, 2021 by Jeffrey Dover, MD

New Clear + Brilliant Fusion treatmentFractional laser skin resurfacing, best known as Fraxel, revolutionized laser skin rejuvenation some 10 years ago. A few years later the company that brought us Fraxel made an adorable, gentle, smaller, version of the Fraxel called the Clear + Brilliant. Two separate wavelengths of light were produced to smooth the overall skin texture of the face, improve brightness and even out the skin color. The device became one of the most popular and effective facial procedures of our aesthetician practice. The folks that brought us the Clear + Brilliant completely redesigned and re-engineered the device this year.

What’s new with SkinCare Physicians’ Clear + Brilliant Fusion treatment

SkinCare Physicians’ Clear + Brilliant Fusion treatment uses the brand new Clear + Brilliant Touch device which has just launched. The device not only got a facelift, with its adorable new look and friendly touchscreen, but also is more versatile and more effective than the original. With the new device our aestheticians can switch seamlessly between two wavelengths of light with the press of a button. This feature enables them to provide our patients with the complete two-wavelength facial treatment in a single appointment, more easily. With the original Clear + Brilliant device, this was very difficult to do in a single treatment. With its two wavelengths of light, our new Clear + Brilliant Fusion treatment is highly effective at improving skin color, tone and texture, all at once.

What to expect with Clear + Brilliant Fusion treatment

Topical anesthetic is applied to the face for 20 to 30 minutes prior to the Clear + Brilliant Fusion treatment making it very easily tolerated. Immediately after treatment the face will be red for a few hours, and any discomfort lasts a matter of minutes. By the next day, most everyone shows little if any residual redness or swelling.

How to achieve the best results with Clear + Brilliant Fusion

A series of 4 to 6 treatments is usually suggested to achieve the best possible results, with about a day, or less, of downtime. Thereafter we recommend maintenance treatments performed every 4 to 6 months to maintain and improve upon the original result.

Who can benefit?

Patients of all ages and skin types, who want to maintain youthful looking skin and improve their skin’s overall appearance, can benefit from a Clear + Brilliant Fusion treatment. It is also a great gentle option for patients new to aesthetic procedures.

The new Clear + Brilliant Fusion, a well-tolerated facial procedure performed by the aestheticians at our Advanced Dermatology Spa, will no doubt become one of the most sought-after skin rejuvenating treatment performed at SkinCare Physicians.

  • Sarah says:

I will be 50 years old next year. I’ve had several IPL sessions over the past 2-3 years at another dermatology office. I still have light brown spots and fine lines I want to address. I’m wondering if the Clear & Brilliant procedure is better than IPL or is it the same? Would Fraxel be the more effective procedure now? I’m aware it’s more costly than Clear & Brilliant. Thank you!

    • Dr. Jeffrey Dover says:

IPL helps brown spots, but it isn’t particularly effective at treating lines or wrinkles.
Clear + Brilliant helps both brown spots and fine lines. Fraxel is even more effective, but with a bit more downtime.

  • Susan says:

I would like to know if I am a good candidate for this procedure, Clear and brilliant fusion. I’m 58 years old. I still have acne and acne scars, and enlarged pores on my chin. Can you tell me what procedure would be the most beneficial? Please advise to the cost as well. Thank you!

    • Dr. Jeffrey Dover says:

The Fusion procedure will help to reduce the size of your pores and it may help your acne scars to some extent.
For acne scarring we usually recommend a more intense kind of fractional resurfacing procedure called Fraxel 1550.
The price of these can be discussed when we assess your skin during an in-person consultation.
