SkinCare Physicians’ nurse Colleen Gaffney RN, BSN and Director of Clinical Operations, Andrea DiGiulio RN, were invited to speak at the 34th annual convention of the Dermatology Nurses’ Association (DNA). It was a great honor for them to share their expertise on CoolSculpting and Laser Safety, with so many other dermatology nurses from around the country. It was also a tribute to SkinCare Physicians’ commitment to in-depth training and continuing education of its clinical staff.
In their first talk, Colleen Gaffney and Andrea DiGiulio explained the science behind the CoolSculpting device, shared best-practices to successfully incorporate the non-invasive contouring treatment into a practice (e.g., staff training, patient selection and education, etc.), discussed the different applicators and results expected, and shared pre- and post- treatment advice. In their second talk, Skincare Physicians’ nurses discussed different types of laser hazards and shared the safety precautions in place at our practice.
The DNA is a professional nursing organization committed to promoting excellence in dermatologic care through sharing knowledge and expertise. This year’s convention gathered over 330 attendees.
